| Glasgow Central Mosque Goes Online |
| Thursday, 27 September 2007 | |
In response to the Muslim community needs the Glasgow Central Mosque has
launched a new website to help better community cohesion and aide its
Muslim worshippers in relating better to their religion in the everyday
life.
'The imam comments that it was in his interest that the Central Mosque for Glasgow form links into the wider community and propagate the true message of Islam to everyone including his own community, also in today's internet age this website is a vital tool in encouraging unity and combating ignorance. At the moment the website has a few interesting features including an events calendar and message alerts where it will be used to make announcements of forth coming events. One announcement in particular which always remains uncertain, due to sighting of the moon, is the day of Eid al Fitr, it is intended to make it easier for public bodies and Muslims alike to identify holidays for Muslim festivities. There is much more work still to be done on the website and it is understood there are plans to add more functionality to the site.
