Oil Workers hold Public to Ransom

Petrol panic arrives at pumps thanks to the inability of unions and management to reach mature agreement on pension contribution. Management are stating that they have compromised throughout the talks and the proposals will not affect existing workers at the plant. the union are stale mating the public, business and services as well as management. What a mess and Alex Salmond's answer is to get the bus! Are you ready to add another 3 hours to your working day? We are assured that supplies are fine but anyone arriving at the petrol pump is facing restrictions, public transport (get the bus) is also limited.

The threat appeared over the implications of the proposed strike. No fuel for a month, businesses will go to the wall, developments for the site will be lost…As it turns out the plant has to legally ensure output for 67 days in the event of disruption after the chaos of the 1976 petrol shortages.

What is interesting is that this comes at a time when the SNP Government hangs all its hope on an oil rich nation. If this is how fragile the reality is then can we rely on it so heavily? Aberdeen (OIL CAPITAL) of Scotland had people on the streets defending services and jobs because the local authority had no funds to maintain, let alone improve services!

Holding people to ransom because you can is cynical and selfserving. The teachers strike in England is another example as children are in exam mode and deserve support at the time, but as one £300 jacket wearing teacher said, "the cost of living is so high we do not earn enough!" cheaper jackets should help.

Is this the start of union egos convincing the world they have real power?
