Murray provided the 15,000 fans at Wimbledon with a sensational
comeback to win a match the he looked dead and buried in when he came
from two sets down to beat Richard Gasquet and set up a quarter final
tie with Rafael Nadal.
Murray looked down and out as Gasquet raced into a
two set lead and served for the match in the third but the young Scot
showed remarkable steel and reliance to come back from the brink
against a player who he had lost both his previous matches to.
The young Scot overcame nerves and tiredness to
claim the victory with a 5-7, 3-6, 7-6(7-3), 6-2, 6-4 ,three sets to
two win in a thrilling match. Murray has now set up a mouthwatering
clash with Rafael Nadal, the worlds number two who has beaten Murray in
his past three matches but on this form, young Andy has nothing to fear
claiming,"If I play like that again, there is no reason I cant win!" He
insists that he is better and fitter now and would be ready for
Wednesday's challenge. If the performance against Gasquet is anything
to go by,Andy will be ready to give the world number two,the match of
his life.
