Amir Khan suffered a sensational first-round knockout at the hands of Colombian Breidis Prescott. Khan only 21, was floored by a left hook in the first serious exchange of his WBO Intercontinental lightweight defence.

He appeared punch drunk but was allowed to continue, only to be sent sprawling to the canvas again seconds later by the hard-hitting challenger.

The fight, seen as a stepping stone to a world title challenge within the next 12 months, was over in less than a minute. The defeat, in front of loyal supporters at Manchester's MEN Arena, spells the end of the Bolton fighter's unbeaten record.
